SETTING OF THE STUDY

This study took place in Tacloban City, Leyte. Tacloban city is in its third

year of being a Highly Urbanized City. The hospitality and tourism industry in the

city is rapidly growing. The restaurant industry in Tacloban City is highly

competitive and food outlets have been increasing in number around the city.

Restaurants and fast-food chains was the focus of this study. The food

establishments were grouped according to type of operation, type of management

and type of ownership

The respondents to this study are the employees and also the patrons or

customers of the food establishments. The employees and customers were

grouped according to their age, gender, civil status and educational attainment.
