SEAMEO RELC’S SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2022

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO)


has the following Scholarship Program Titles to offer for Calendar Year 2022.

▪ C111 – Advanced Specialist Certificate in Teaching Listening


and Speaking [January 8, 2022 – February 26, 2022]
▪ C112 – Advanced Specialist Certificate in Teaching Reading and
Writing [January 8, 2022 – February 26, 2022]
▪ C423 – Specialist Certificate in Technology-Enabled Language
[March 19, 2022 – May 7, 2022]

Entry Requirements
- Graduate of a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, English Language,
Teaching English as Second Language, Education
- At least two years of full-time English language teaching
experience or experience in English language/curriculum
planning and language development programs
- Candidates must meet the minimum language scores for any of
the following:
1. IELTS: 6.5
2. TOEFL: 550 paper-based; 213 computer-based; 79: internet-
based
3. GCE 0 Level English: B3 and above
4. GCE A Level General Paper (CAE): C6 and above or
5. Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): C and above
6. SPM 1119 English: B and above (GPK/PNG 3.00 and
above)/Kepujian Tinggi and above
7. STPM General Paper/English Literature: B- and above
(CGPA/HGMP 2.67 and above
8. Malaysian University English Test (MUET): Band 4 and above
9. CU TEP with a score of 65 (equivalent to IELTS 6.5) and above
10. APTIS (all four macro skills): B2 and above

▪ MTESOL – Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other


Languages in partnership with Victoria University of Wellington, New
Zealand [February 28, 2022 – June 2, 2023]

Entry Requirements
- Graduate of a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, English Language,
Education or a language other than English (or another relevant
degree)
- At least two years of professional experience in language
education or other areas of applied linguistics
- For students from non-English speaking backgrounds, an overall
score of –
1. IELTS: 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0 or
2. TOEFL internet-Based Test Special Home Edition 1: 90 with a
minimum 20 in writing, or
3. Pearson test of English: minimum score of 65 (with a
“Communicative” score of not less than 58) is required
Note: Applicants with a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied
Linguistics conferred by SEAMEO RELC or an equivalent post-
graduate qualification will be eligible for a four-course exemption.

The qualifications are the following.


▪ Filipino citizen
▪ Must be 50 years old and below
▪ At least 5 years of service in DepEd at the time of the nomination
▪ Must be computer literate and have access to stable internet
connection
▪ Able and willing to utilize course learning as well as share them with
others upon completion of the program
▪ Must hold a permanent appointment
▪ Must have no pending administrative and/or criminal case
▪ Must have no pending nomination for scholarship
▪ Physically and mentally fit

All qualified interested personnel must submit the following


documentary requirements to the Human Resource Development (HRD)
Unit of the schools Division Office on or before Oct. 21, 2021.
