Activity 4
Directions: Develop a paragraph about coping with the new normal. Start your paragraph
by enumerating the new situations, safety protocols, etc.. Then, your body will be an
elaboration or presentation of supporting details you presented in the introduction. Then
end up with your concluding paragraph by summarizing your stand regarding the topic.

COVID-19 vaccines should be mandatory for the school staffs and students for the
re-opening of face-to-face classes among schools and universities in the Philippines.

Like many other countries, vaccines arrived in the Philippines. According to


Rappler.com “ As of September 26, 2021, Philippines had 69, 699, 340 total doses delivered
(39,000,000 SINOVAC, 10,935,990 PFIZER, 9,595,440 ASTRAZENECA, 5,527,060
MODERNA, 3,240,850 JOHNSON AND JOHNSON, 1,100,000 SINOPHARM, 570,000 SPUTNIK
V). World Health Organizations (WHO) stated that “vaccination is not mandatory” but the
government encourages everyone to be vaccinated for the safety purposes. The
government prioritized front liners who is in charge in the health of the COVID-19 patients,
senior citizens and a person with comorbidities then the economic health workers. In
educational field, while new variants are causing arise of COVID-19 cases. Philippine
government approved pilot testing of limited face-to-face classes. Added to that
Presidential spokesperson, Harry Roque told reporters that we need a face-to-face class,
education is not an issue but the mental health of the students.

Some of the parents and students have feared of to get the vaccine due to reports of
negative side effects on health cause of vaccines. They didn’t allow their children to re-
enter in school unless Philippines will become covid free. On the other hand, lots of
countries reopened their face-to-face classes and goes back to normal. However, blended
learning burden students and parents with problems, they only comply the requirements
but no learning. To address the problem in students learning, students needs a physical
classroom and teachers. Re-opening of schools is indeed for the students learning.
Education remain problems unless vaccines should be mandatory for the safety learning
environment for the students.
