To begin with, this community still lives in an atmosphere where sexual orientation

discrimination is still prevalent. I am Jetro Del Rio Maya, 18 years of age and typically I’m a gay.
Being a member of the LGBTQ community comes with a variety of difficulties. People around
me often make me feel that I'm disgusting. I also often feel that being part of the LGBTQ are not
part of the society and many people do not see us as a human being. It annoys me that some
people says that this world is just for males and females but how about us? We can also be part
of this world. In a world full of judgmental people, I'm still grateful because I have friends and a
loving family who understand me and love me for who I am. Even if I’m a gay I knew to myself
that I’m a good person. I could also help to make our environment become better. Someday I
hope everyone will accept and respect us and see that everyone is equal.
