Batman's origin story is well-known to pretty much everyone at this point, and it's not

bypass that and head straight to "Year Two."

During the DC FanDome panel for The Batman, Reeves con rmed that his movie takes
place during the second year of Bruce being Batman, and explained that he's only just
beginning to nd his footing. That means exploring why he chose to become Batman
rather than how.

Describing the vigilante as "broken," Reeves said that this Bruce is haunted by "that idea of
being driven by your past, and by the things that you can't quite resolve in yourself." The
Batman "[is] about the early days of how he is Batman" and fans will "see him becoming 10 Breakout Movie
what we all know about him, and see it in new ways. I felt like that was a way to do Performances That Ultimately
