ACTIVITY 3.

LEARNING AND PROCESS ACTIVITIES

A CLOSER LOOK TO THE PROCESS OF COMMUNICATION

Directions: Analyze the following situations Answer the questions and perform the
activities asked for each item. Remember to write in sentences and paragraphs.

1. Due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine, people are not allowed to go out to
prevent the spread of the virus. You have a very urgent message to give to your
teacher. What could be the possible ways for you to relay the message to your
teacher?
With text being essential in our daily lives, it is important that we overcome
some of these challenges. Sending an email or a private message to my teacher
could be a possible way to relay the message.
2. Supposing you are a police officer and you caught a man in the act of stealing a
car. How would you initiate the arrest?
If a police officer personally sees someone commit a crime, the officer
may take that person into custody. As a police officer caught a man stealing a
car, I would tell the suspect plainly that making him arrest, call for backup, hold
him and ask explicitly for his cooperation until police arrive and state the plain
facts of what happened.
3. For instance, you are the man caught in the act of stealing a car. How would you
respond to the policeman?
If you are put under arrest, whatever the circumstances, the most
important thing to remember is not to fight the officer who is detaining you. As a
man caught in an act stealing a car, I would accept and go with the police so that
I can explain, confess and answer what is asked by the police.
4. Your boss called you on a Saturday afternoon while you were in the mall to buy
some personal stuff. What could be the possible interferences that may prevent
you from understanding the message?
Asking permission in a polite way for an excuse and an active listening to
show respect could be the possible interference that may prevent us from
understanding the message.
5. The instructions of your teacher were not that clear. What will you do to help
clarify the message?
I will admit and ask permission to clarify the instructions
(miscommunication) about what my teacher told.
