ACTIVITY 2: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES AND EDUCATION

There are lots of memories to reminisce and lots of story to tell, but I’ll just focus on one
of the most unforgettable memory that I will always remember. The presence of your mother will
always be the one you will find when you wake up. Since as a child, you’ll get use that your
mom will always prepare food, iron your clothes, and lastly, the kiss of goodbye when going to
school. I use to remember those days, and I really miss it. We’ve experienced a lot of problem
when I got diagnose with a Stage 4 Dengue, we have a lot of debt from our friends to our
relatives. And even our business got bankrupt since we need to pay for my hospital bill. Due to
the financial problem that we have faced, my mom decided to work abroad so she can provide
more for our financial needs. Since my mom is not around, I was able to become independent
and hardworking.

During the time that I was left with my sister and father, I was the one who is doing all
the chores and taking care of my sister since my dad is also working. At the young age, I learned
to develop my sense of responsibility. Before, my mom is the one who is assisting and preparing
all the things that we need, but since she is not around I am the one who is doing all the things
that she did before. It is tiring since I am not ready to take that responsibility at a very young age,
but the feeling is so overwhelming since I am helping my family. Because of this I became
determined to study hard.

Studying is not easy, since my personal tutor which is my mother is not around, I am
studying by myself. Since I don’t have anyone to guide me, I personally taught myself to become
independent and understand our situation. Even though my parents are busy working, I pushed
myself so hard so I can excel academically. So, by the time that I am the one that is working in
the household, I can provide the things that they like and the things that they need. Too
ambitious, but that is the reason why I am studying hard. I want to be the one who will provide
the needs of my family, to give back the effort that they gave to me.
