1. How does production management differ from operations management?


- Production and operations management's main goal is to effectively manage and utilize the company's
resources, which are necessary for the production of goods and services. The term "production
management" refers to the administration of activities related to the manufacture of goods. Operations
management, on the other hand, is one step ahead of production management, or it could be said that
production management is a subset of operational management. Operational management is the
management of business operations by company executives, as the name implies.
- Production management differs from operational management in that it is concerned with the production
of commodities and services. Operational management, on the other hand, entails tasks like monitoring,
planning, and structuring business processes. The manager of production must make judgments about the
design, quality, quantity, and cost of the product produced by the department.

2. Being a BSBA student taking either financial management or human resource management major,
is it necessary for you to study operations management? Why or why not?
3. In what ways do you think can operations management help in a company’s competitiveness,
strategy, and productivity?
