1. What is the differences between field-independent person and field-dependent


person?
- Field independent person is a person who associated with more analytical
tendencies.
- Field dependent person is a person who associated with more on empathic and
open personality.

2. Mention and explain the different of the types of monitor use that includes in
personality factors
- Overusers: based on the conscious acquisition and tend to emphasizes on the
acquiring a rule knowledge. It makes over-users more sensitive on correctness
rather than communication aspect
- Underusers: are relying totally on their subconsciously learning.
- Optimal users: acquire substantial amount of the second language subconsciously.
3. At what age do you think the most appropriate to begin to learn second language?
Explain!
- Young learner (before 15)
- Because young learner tend to learn the second language subconsciously, they do
not rely on the grammar or rules, but on the communication aspects.
4. Does the age of arriving in host country influence the second language acquisition?
Give brief explanation!
- Yes, the younger the learner when arrive in the host country the more native like
the pronunciation
5. “Children are faster than adult in acquiring second language.”
Do you agree with the statement above? Why?
- No, children is not always faster. Adult appears to progress faster especially in the
areas of syntax and morphology at least in the early stages of the learning.
