SUMMARY

Over the next two decades, a technological wave will revolutionize the efficiency of farms
all over the world. It can’t come soon enough. By the year 2050 the human population will be
nearly 10 billion—which means we’ll need to have doubled the amount of food we now produce.

The industry had changed over the century. Hundred years ago, farmers still use the
traditional method to farm by using animals or etc. Nowadays, farmers use an advanced machine
to farm and maybe in the future, we don’t even need to farm manually anymore because how
developed the technology will be.

Today, the researcher had been developing an advance innovation to improve farming
efficiency. Some of those examples are the robots that gathers strawberries twice as fast as humans,
robots or drones that shoots pesticide precisely and more eco-friendly, tiny sensors and cameras
will monitor crop growth and alert farmers on their smartphones if there’s a problem, or when it’s
the best time to harvest, and even the researcher at Harper Adams in the UK plan to harvest an
entire hectare of farm without humans. For the animal farm, the examples are a collar for a cows
to detect whether the cow is sick or not, 3D cameras that quickly measure the weight of a cattle,
microphones that’s placed above pig pens to detect coughs, giving sick animals the treatment they
need a full 12, a system of just three cameras to tracks the movements of thousands of chickens to
analyze their behavior, an artificial ecosystem that mimics ocean conditions so that saltwater fish
farms can be built in that place. This would allow millions of landlocked people to be able to enjoy
fresh fish, instead of consuming frozen fish. Another innovation that been made is an alternative
protein. Some of the companies in the world started developing an artificial meat such as
hamburger that was made from muscle cells grown in a lab in the Netherlands, followed by a
meatball grown by a California company called Memphis Meats.
 Now, we understand how things have been changed the last 100 years. How much benefits
that humans receive from this advanced technology. From now, as the technology still developing,
we’re hoping that this advanced technology will help the farming industry to develop also more
efficient and making a huge amount of food stocks for humans to live and survive.
