Garden of Gethsemane
Sweet drops of blood because of the pressure of taking on the sins of the whole world

Arrested lead away to Caiaphas-first trial

• spit on him
• blind folded
• beat on him in the face
• Officers struck him with the palms of their hands
• results of a beating around the face (eyelids swollen shut, disfigurement of the face- Isa
52:13-14- marred, beard pulled out)

Taken to Pontius Pilot

• Scourged- (leather throngs with, bone, metal in each strand) -ripped his skin- (many
others crucified during this time period would die at the flogging)
• Muscles and skin would be shredded, massive blood loss, trauma to the body.
• stripped him naked
• put a scarlet rob on him
• put a reed in his hand
• spit on him-(including his face)
• crown of thorns on his head (pressed, beat in)

(At this point almost 9 hours passed since his arrest)- he had no water and no food, severe
dehydration would be setting in Isa. 50:6- he "gave" his back to the smiters, cheek to
those who plucked out his beard)
Isa 53:5- wounded for our transgressions

Psalm 22- (graphic description, effects, and process of crucifixion)

• poured out like water
• all bones out of joint
• heart like was, melted in the midst of bowels
• strength dried up like a potsherd
• tongue cleaves to the mouth-literally tongue sticks to the mucous membranes of the
mouth
Crucifixion
• Stripped naked
• clothes divided amongst the soldiers and they cast lots for the clothes right before him
• Gall offered- and he reused it
• nailed to the cross

In the position of crucifixion

• The tension pulling on the arms, the shoulders and the chest make it almost impossible
to breath
• He would have to lift up every time he wanted to exhale on the nails in his feet, causing
the nail to tear upward through the flesh slowly toward the metatarsal bone.

Physiological effects
• Blood oxygen level decrease
• which cause rising of carbon dioxide level
• Which would cause the heart rate to beat faster trying to get rid of the carbon dioxide.
the heart would beat more rapidly also trying to get oxygen.
• the lungs collapse and stimulate the heart to pump even faster (on the verge of a
massive "heart" attack.
• fluid begins to fill the lungs
• the fluid comes from the blood vessels
• fluid would build up around the heart
• this causes dehydration which causes tremendous thirst...
(Victims usually died of suffocation not a loss of blood )
But not my Savior..."HE" gave up the ghost..He "gave" His life for my life..for your
life....and thanking Him goes beyond saying thank you, or praising, or worshipping him
simply is not enough....LORD I YIELD TO YOU! Do with me as you wish....
Hallelujah..........Hallelujah...........Hallelujah...........Hallelujah...........Hallelujah
