Literary Translation As An Aspect of Intercultural Communication
The article under review is about the process of translators’ training in the
context of intercultural communication. The author draws our attention to the fact
that today we live in the globalizing world which is the reason of a broad cultural
exchange. Since the translator is an intermediary between two different cultures, it is
necessary to carefully approach the process of training. The author stresses that the
training of translators is an urgent problem, especially in the field of the translation of
literary texts.
The article describes three stages of the model for literary translation:
preparatory, pretranslatory analysis and interpretation of text, implementation of the
translation, editing.
At the end of the article the importance of knowing not only the source
language, but also the native, target language is stressed.
