Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the postgraduate honours program in The Faculty of Engineering and Built
Environment, especially in the department of mechanical in which I am enormously interested.

I am a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering from university of Lubumbashi, faculty of

polytechnics. I have completed this degree in December 2019. Republic of democratic of Congo is my
native country. Actually, I live in south Africa, in Pretoria.

I am a passionate of research in mechatronics and I love creativity in this domain that why I believe
that there is no better place to continue my study in engineering than the mechanical department of
university of Cape town because this department’s curriculum includes courses in electrical
engineering, electronics, programming and control systems, which will provide for me all the building
blocks of mechatronics. I consider it as a vibrant experience to get the opportunity to do research,
specifically in mechatronics systems modelling and control, and robotics applications in
manufacturing in one of the best universities in Africa. The main purpose of my life is to address
relevant challenges in society, solve it and contribute to the development of industry through
mechatronics systems. Therefore, I affirm that the highly technical skills and the process-thinking
abilities that the university gives to postgraduate student will help me to be a problem-solvers and give
me the ability to make an important contribution not only in my respective industry, but also to wide-
spread social welfare. I am certain to push with dedication, I have always worked hard with to
accomplish my goal and gain more knowledge.

Studying in the department of mechanical at university of Cape town is an opportunity I would like to
dedicate myself too wholeheartedly. Considering my desire to discover and create new knowledge that
will make a difference in my community and in the world, I am convinced that I will be a valuable
addition to the program. I hope to be given a chance.
