National Differences In Political Economy:

On what I’ve learned about the political system wherein it tackles the collectivism,
Individualism, Democracy, and Totalitarianism. Here are my thoughts regarding to
this. Let’s go first in collectivism it said that it is a goals over individual goals, needs
of the society are more important than the personal needs. Basically it’s more on
general public interest rather than personal. It focuses in the entire group goals and
not only the desires of individual but considered the majority. Next is the
Individualism it said that individual should have freedom in his/her own economic
and political pursuits, interest of individual over the interest of the state. This one is
more on freedom of self-expression in any forms. It shows here that your own
interest is more valid than the interest of the states. Then let’s go further more in
Democracy it said that government is by the people either directly or through elected
representatives associated by the individualism. Representative democracy is the
most practiced in modern democratic states. Example of democrat is our own
country we are in a democrat political system wherein people can change their rulers
in a peaceful manner and the government is given the right to rule. Lastly is
Totalitarianism it is a type of government where one person or political party has
complete control over all aspects of human life and forbids opposing political parties.
It shows here that this one is more about one person/political party has the power to
control everyone in any forms. I see no freedom at all, someone can control you at
all times.
