Composite plate with laminates symmetrically stacked with respect to the plate mid-plane
has significant stress distribution under loading. This was investigated by S.J.Guo for composite
panels subjected to shear loading and the buckling behaviour were analysed. This gave a relevant

references for cut-out shape optimization are cited as follows.

S.Guo analytically optimized the cut-out shape on steel plates under uniaxial tension load.
This work was extended to composite plates by the buckling effect on composite plates with cut-out
under uniaxial tension load was

In the following paper we will present a composite plate with cut-out, subjected to negative
shear load with a standard layup[45,-45,0,90,0]2s .The comparison of different on stress distribution in

1. They worked on the effect of cut out shape on shear concentration. Result showed a
considerable enhancement when a diamond shaped cut out was used over circular ones.
Buckling of tension-loaded thin-walled composite plates with cut-out
2. Their work dealt with buckling in composite plates with cut outs under uniaxial tension
load. They discussed effects of optimized cutouts like rounded square and ellipse on the
above phenomenon and why it’s critical to check this always for various engineering
problems like bridge.
3. Their work mainly was an analytical study of different cutout shapes on steel plates under
uniaxial tension load. They mainly worked on circular, pentagonal, triangular and square.
They varied the orientations and bluntness and checked the stress distribution.
