Parent letter home

Hello parents!
I’m Ms. Thibodeaux, your children’s 3rd grade teacher. I just wanted to take a moment to
let you all know how excited I am to teach your students this school year! This year is going to
be filled with fun and learning for all of us! The other 3rd grade teachers and myself have a few
field trips in mind for later this year, I will fill you in on those as I receive more information.
I also wanted to make you all aware that I will not be giving out any homework this
school year unless absolutely necessary. Any homework your child has will be left over work
that they did not complete in class or reviews for upcoming tests. I suggest using this time
instead to teach your student other valuable life skills. Examples I suggest include reading,
cooking, household chores, or anything else you may come up with!
I will be using Class Dojo as a reward system for your students as well as a quick and
easy way for you to know what’s going on in the classroom. Our class code is 123ABC. In
addition to using class dojo I am also working on getting a weekly online newsletter set up that I
will update each Friday with relevant information from the week prior and the upcoming week.
Please also take the time to fill out the short survey (link at bottom of page) so that I can have
this relevant knowledge to your child.
