Q. What you can take to enhance your level of competency in construction? Then
how you can contribute to the advancement of construction profession.

Answer:
In any field of work, there is always need of improvement. This is the
base of advancement in any field of work. So a professional engineer is
always competent in his work. He must introduce the better way of
working or advance materials regarding his field, that’s why he must be
up to date about his field.
If we talk about the construction field. To succeed in the construction
industry, thorough knowledge of subjects like algebra, geometry,
welding and drawing are very handy while performing tasks like drilling,
cutting and scrapping wooden planks, etc. A good ability to work in a
team and good problem solving skills are highly recommended for
construction profession.
We must strive for the highest quality work we can achieve. We don’t
fall short or skip steps because that will likely catch up with us and
reflect poorly on our reputation.
We must establish relationships with others in the industry. Connect
with architects and subs. Network and stay in the loop with those in our
field of work
We must be open to new ideas. Don’t get stuck in our old ways, even if
they work. Be open to new tools and methods; they may be more
effective and it shows that we’re flexible and willing to grow.
