There are two adapting word games for young people with visual impairments called
Bananagrams or Appletters. By putting a braille on the front of the tile where the print
letter is showing and adding a magnet on the back of the tiles can help youth participate
in word games. For younger children, they can work on matching letters or writing
letters. For older children, they could use a scrabble game to review vocabulary words.
Using bigger tiles and larger letters helps really well with young individuals with low
vision.
