Online Posting 1-a: Self Introduction

Although this is an independent study course, you may be working through the
content at the same time as other students with whom you can communicate and
from whom you can learn. Community is an essential element of Aboriginal
restorative justice. To create a community, it helps to know a little about one
another. Post a short (about 100 words) online message introducing yourself to
your Open Learning Faculty Member and fellow learners. Include a bit of
information about yourself, such as what community or organization you are from,
and why you are taking this course. Describe where you currently live, including one
interesting highlight of that location. For example, Rugby, North Dakota, is the
geographic centre of North America, and Lytton, British Columbia, is home of the
world’s largest jellyroll. If you feel comfortable doing so, share a picture of yourself
and/or your community.

Conclude by answering the following question:

Based on your current understanding, what is Aboriginal restorative justice, and

why is this topic important to learn about?

Online Posting 1-b: What Shapes My Paradigm?
Thursday, 27 April 2017, 2:29 PM
In about 100 words, post a reflection on what you feel shapes your paradigm, lens,
or worldview when it comes to justice. Some questions to consider are: What is
justice? What does justice look or feel like? When do you know that justice has been
done? Have you ever experienced a shift in your worldview? If so, share this
experience and mention what you feel inspired that shift. How does what you have
read about Indigenous worldviews align with your justice paradigm?
