Opening Prayer – Me
• Father God, we gather here today under your care and protection. Thank you for your
lovingkindness that never fails us. We thank you for those with us, that you would guide our
thoughts and actions to bring you glory. Strengthen us and fill us with your peace. May we love
and serve each other as Jesus has shown us. Fill us with the Holy Spirit to do your good work on
earth. Amen.

GOSPEL READING BY TRACY (GOSPEL OF MARK 10:35-45) - Me

35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached him. 'Master,' they said to him, 'We want
you to do us a favour.'
36 He said to them, 'What is it you want me to do for you?'
37 They said to him, 'Allow us to sit one at your right hand and the other at your left in your
glory.'
38 But Jesus said to them, 'You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I
shall drink, or be baptised with the baptism with which I shall be baptised?'
39 They replied, 'We can.' Jesus said to them, 'The cup that I shall drink you shall drink, and with
the baptism with which I shall be baptised you shall be baptised,
40 but as for seats at my right hand or my left, these are not mine to grant; they belong to those
to whom they have been allotted.'
41 When the other ten heard this they began to feel indignant with James and John,
42 So Jesus called them to him and said to them, 'You know that among the gentiles those they
call their rulers lord it over them, and their great men make their authority felt.
43 Among you this is not to happen. No; anyone who wants to become great among you must be
your servant,
44 and anyone who wants to be first among you must be slave to all.
45 For the Son of man Himself came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a
ransom for many.'

Me –
• The phrase in the gospel that I chose, makes me think about life. And this is “Not to be
served but to serve”. I realized that to be truly successful and to live a legendary life, I believe
you must be in balance with all aspects of life, and being of service is an important part of that
balance. This entails being of service to others in whatever capacity best suits your lifestyle.
Whether it's sending help to your favorite charity, volunteering with the homeless, or serving as a
good citizen in your community, it's as important to you as it is to those you serve. Contribution
outside of yourself keeps your life in check, forming a solid foundation on which to build your
successes. When you only take from the world and refuse to contribute to it, you will always be
in a state of survival, no matter how much you have or how much money you make.

The message of God to me through the chosen verse is you’re not the only that should be
served by others, you should also serve to other by helping those who needs help, by following
command to your parents, in that small act you are also serving others and it’s a big thing doing
that.

My Brother –
 The phase is the gospel I choose is “and anyone who wants to be first among you must be
slave to all” the reason behind it is that I always knew people would always want to
become first – most of us don’t consider being at the least. We always want better, we
want to become something great, something big, but we are unconsciously didn’t realize
that we are already something great and something big. We just have to understand that
Lord creates us equally and Lord will never create something that is not beautiful.

CONCLUDING PRAYER - Brother

 Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is
now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
