LO3 - Discuss the social, political, environmental and economic factors related

to alternative energy systems.

P4: Discuss the ways in which social, political and economic factors influence
the discourse around the environment and alternative energy.

Social factors
This energy system provides us with many social factors. This energy system provides
improvement of health, advancement in technologies, and working opportunities. These
systems should consider the human benefits and also proved to be beneficial in climate
conditions. These consider as the best living standards and help to find the rural or urban
areas. Social aspects are very important for the development of any kind of society; therefore,
its consideration is necessary[ CITATION Ber07 \l 1033 ].

Political Factors
Solar Panels are installed mostly in the roof top of building. Solar Panels can be set
on all government buildings which can increase the job opportunities as well. But
investment required for it is very high. Biomass energy systems also has a great
contribution in job creations as well. All these types of systems generate a number of
jobs in construction and technical sites[ CITATION Bur18 \l 1033 ].

Environmental Factors
Renewable energy projects also provide a contribution in growing better
environmental impacts like raising your voice against climate changes and carbon
dioxide emissions. The research shows that renewable energy sources have very
small impacts on the local population, tourism, energy costs, and educational
impacts. But it shows the significant impacts in providing modification in quality of
life, development of social connections, and social development. Some of the
projects of Renewable energy contain difficulties in implementation, and they are
very environment-sensitive. Their prediction, design, and planning of the project
need consideration and information from other tasks. Water and air pollution are the
environmental factors, which are usually caused by domestic, industrial, and
rainwater runoff, and heavy metals and toxic chemicals like mercury and lead are
present in released oil and water, which is the major reason for water pollution. But
on the other side, it provides us an improvement in air temperature and also provides
protection against global warming[ CITATION Ber07 \l 1033 ].
Economic factors
All the renewable energy projects give us many benefits economically. The reason
for it is that these projects include workers from rural areas. These projects utilize the
local assets for energy production. In this way, these projects grow the local
business and provide benefits to native banking services and native stakeholders.
The energy generated from renewable projects is of low cost if it utilizes the local
assets and, in this way, the government saves a lot of revenue by sale of electricity.
A large number of jobs are also created by these projects, and it increases the
business of small communities as well. Wind power plant and solar power plant does
not require a large number of workers, but they save us a lot of revenue. Later on,
this revenue will be utilized for other mega projects, and jobs will be created in them.
It also provides perks to the consumer because people are getting electricity at a
lower cost, and the overall economy of the country is increasing [ CITATION Kum20 \l
1033 ].

M3: Evaluate the ways in which global warming and carbon emissions impact
on the adoption of alternative energies.
We can never adopt the fossil fuel for energy generation and also energy from
nuclear power plant isn’t preferable. We prefer the wind power plant for adoption of
alternate energy source because there is no carbon emission in it and there is no
risk of global warming.
D2: Justify the selection of an alternative energy system, for a given context,
which recognizes the social, political and economic factors that influence the
selection process.
From Task 2, I select the figure 2 from Appendix B because this system is more
efficient and easier to handle than other systems. We prefer it by keeping in mind all
social, economic, political and environmental factors. We have also compared this
system with other energy systems and we came to result that this system is more
beneficial because of its specific features. This system does not require any kind of
regular handling like other systems do.

LO 4) Report on the selection of an alternative energy scheme for a given

Context
P5: Specify an alternative energy generation scheme for a given context.
There are various energy schemes and most of them are renewable energy systems
and these systems provide electrical energy without any emission of the carbon
dioxide and if there is no emission of carbon dioxide occurs then the chances of
global warming are reduced particularly. There are various energy systems including
solar energy system and wind energy systems and there are some other energy
systems that are described above. Wind turbines have improved them and solar
photovoltaic technology is very effective and improved the potential for energy
consumption on waves and waves. Solar thermal technology in particular (with a
certain temperature retention) is very powerful in sunny conditions (Gasser et al.,
2015). Encouraged by the government to use wind and solar technology, their costs
have dropped and they are now in the same league per kilowatt hour as rising costs
of fossil fuels, especially with the cost of emitting carbon to generate electricity for
them. But we never prefer energy generated from fossil fuels because they are a
great source of carbon dioxide emission. And that’s the reason why global warming
is growing so fast in recent years. We consider some other sources of energy which
do not cause emission of Carbon dioxide (Wise et al., 2009).

P6: Illustrate an Alternative energy scheme for a given context, highlighting

the key factors informing the selection.

Figure 1: Factors related to Renewable Energy Sources [ CITATION Kol20 \l 1033 ]

M4: Present a comparison of different alternative energy systems in support of
the decision for a selected system.
We consider the wind power plant, solar power plant and tidal power plant for this
specified scenario. But we prefer wind power plant over other power plants because
of it splendid features. Its installation is easy to handle and there is no operation
charges or land required for it because we can place it in a agriculture lands. The
specified place is also existing on the water side. The wind speed is also normally
high on water side. By considering all these features we prefer Wind Power plant for
his specified scenario [ CITATION Ahm14 \l 1033 ].
