hello, my name is angie aiejandra otalora and this time I am going to tell you a little
about tumaco, the municipality where I am from.

San Andrés de Tumaco is "the pearl of the Pacific of Colombia", named after a
discovery of the largest precious pearl found in the world. However, its inhabitants
preserve their appointment due to the natural beauty that this island contemplates in the
Colombian Pacific plain.

At the municipal seat of Tumaco is Playa del Morro with its natural arch, a site of great
tourist boom surrounded by hotels, restaurants and dance hails suitable to receive its
visitors. 30 minutes away by boat by sea or river, is Bocagrande Beach, bordered by
transparent waters and fine, silver sands that captivate upon arrival.

Among the natural beauties to be admired, the Humpback whale watching between
mid-July and mid-October, and the bird watching, which some call the unexplored
paradise of Tumaco, stand out among its attractions.

During the month of February they celebrate the Carnaval del Fuego, a space to
recognize the culture of Tumaquefia, its dances, typical costumes and the fun of this
region. In its gastronomy, the exquisite preparations of sea fruits seduce with the
seasoning of the coconut aphrodisiac, borojö juice and its most typical fruits;
chontaduro, naidi, sapote, guaba, chocolate, custard apple and pepepan.

Tumaco has a maritime port that is considered the third most important in the country
and the second on the Colombian Pacific coast. The region's economy is based mainly
on agro-industrial agriculture, fishing, shrimp farming, logging, African palm production,
cocoa, coconut and banana harvesting. Similarly, tourism is important in this area.

Thank you so much, goodbye
