OBJECTIVE Format: Get <WHO> to <DO WHAT> by <HOW>

To get our people to embrace a life of sacrifice in the midst of self-centered world.

Not about going after comfort or ease, but about being sacrificial

TARGET AUDIENCE W
ho are we talking to? What does their church, personal and work life look
like?

There is a younger generation of believers that seems to be at a loss when things get difficult. Because
of advances in technology, they think everything can be solved instantly and give up easily when life
gets hard. They need to understand that walking with Jesus doesn’t mean an easy, trouble-free life. In
fact, it entails self-denial, sacrifice, and suffering.

PROBLEM / OPPORTUNITY W
hat PROBLEM or OPPORTUNITY are we addressing?
PROBLEM
There’s a younger generation that . . .
● knows that life is hard, but wants things to be easy because of advances in technology
● doesn’t know how to stay the course; has a hard time handling pain and finding alternative
solutions; quickly switches what they are doing when they experience hardships
● expects that life with Christ will be easy and will solve everything

OPPORTUNITY
This is an opportunity to teach the younger generation to . . .
● understand that while some situations will become easier, some will get harder, because we
certainly will have a life of troubles (there’s no app to solve our problems in life)

● respond to challenges in a way that leads to perseverance, because faith and patience go
hand-in-hand (justice and healing will come, whether in this world or in heaven
● remember that suffering for the gospel creates opportunities for us to witness
● Help them understand the difficulties of following Jesus

INSIGHT / TRUTH
What insight or truth will help address the barrier / be the key to addressing the problem

Because CHRIST IS IN ME, I can face anything.

Through all these challenges and hardships, I may not get my justice or healing, but I am becoming
more like Christ every day, like refined gold or a polished diamond.

DESIRED RESPONSE What do want them to THINK and DO after the Conference?
THINK and BELIEVE
● I am a millennial, but I am also a Christian. I will not give up easily.
● I need great faith in a great God because I will face great challenges.

DO
● I will face any situation with joy, grit, and gratitude.
● I will have faith and patience, looking forward to eternity with Christ.

IMAGERY W
hat it is and what it isn’t in terms of imagery?
I am becoming refined gold; the polished diamond (created under pressure and cut).
