CHAPTER I

Introduction

“Rice Bowl of South Cotabato”, this is what The Municipality of Norala is

known for. With its vast green fields which you can mostly see on both sides of its main

roads, no wonder that rice farming has been the main industry in this town. Rice farming

has long been there since this municipality was established decades ago, and there are

still no signs of it ever declining.

Modernization is inevitable, especially in the farming industry. Little by little,

these advancements in farming are seen in Norala. One of our main goal is to contribute

to these advancements by introducing a modern-age infrastructure that is focused on

modernization of farming.

Our client Mrs. Raquel F. Gloria, requested a project design for a business

facility that is focused on harvesting, storage, and delivery of agricultural goods,

specifically rice. In response to the client’s request we came up with a proposal entitled

“Proposed Buy-and-Sell Warehouse with Two-storey Office Building”, which it will be

constructed at Purok Sampaguita, Poblacion, Norala, South Cotabato.

Given the location having a vast open field we made an add-on to the proposal

to make it more unique and appealing. As a company that promotes green energy, we

proposed on installing an off-grid solar power system which will power our

infrastructure, and as we all know, solar energy is a time proven, clean, and affordable

source of electricity. We are also going to include a water system to make this facility

fully self-sustaining.
