TASK DETAIL

Instructions:

● Students will choose their own topic. The essay should be about their stand or position of a
certain issue.
(Suggested topics that they can choose from)
1. Politics
2. Covid-19
3. Online Class
4. Mental Health
5. Social Media Platform
6. Teenage Pregnancy
7. Entertainment News
8. Romantic Relationship in this Generation
9. Normalizing Things Trend
10. LGBTQ
11. Religion
12. YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR OWN TOPIC ALSO

 After choosing a topic, students should brainstorm what aspect of the topic they are going to
discuss. Example is choosing the positive features of ONLINE CLASS if they decide to
choose the said topic. They have to narrow down the topic into a more specific one.

 After narrowing down the very general topic, they have to choose one among FREE-
WRITING, MAPPING/CLUSTERING and OUTLINING to use for their PREWRITING STAGE
ACTIVITY.

● Once they are done with their PREWRITING STAGE output, they can now proceed to
organization and finalization of their essay for this quarter.
● Their THESIS STATEMENT should be highlighted with YELLOW. This is where I can see
your position/stand of your chosen topic.

● There should be at least 4 paragraphs in their essay. Each paragraph should contain 5-6
sentences each.

● They should make their own title for their essay.

● Their output or product in PREWRITING STAGE will serve as their 2nd SUMMATIVE TEST.

● Their FINAL ESSAY will serve as their PERFORMANCE TASK.

● If students choose to write their PREWRITING output on a paper, they have to attach the
picture of that paper to their document. The FINAL ESSAY should be typewritten.

● Specified format: Font style and size: ARIAL, 12. Paragraph should be JUSTIFIED.

● File name should be in this format: Surname_Section_PT1 – Example: Denosta_Zion_PT1

● They have to send their output to the Google Drive Link provided. The link will be posted on
their FB Group.

● SUBMISSION OF OUTPUT WILL BE ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 24, 2021. Late output

is subject to point deduction.

● The two outputs will be graded according to the criteria

 PREWRITING OUTPUT

Quantity of concepts written – 10 points

Observance of the correct way of organizing concepts - 5 points
Observance of the instructions above – 5 points

Total: 20 points

Final Essay
Content - 15 points
Mechanics (Spelling, Punctuations and Capitalization) – 15 points
THESIS STATEMENT - - 15 Points
Observance of the instructions above - 5 points

Total: 50 points

Note: Remind the students to write their name and the name of the subject teacher as well
as the date submitted, the grade and section 😊
