Q: I have both GTA IV and GTA EFLC. To which one should I install the mod?
A: If you want extra features like parachutes and nitro, you should install the mod
on GTA EFLC.
However, some compatibility issues may occur. If you want the mod most stable,
you should install the mod on GTA IV.
Q: Does the mod use cars from GTA IV or GTA San Andreas?
A: The San Andreas vehicles are used, however, some vehicles are not yet replaced.
If you GTA IV vehicles, you can restore those manually.
Q: Can I mod the game further with GTA IV: San Andreas installed?
A: In theory it's possible, but not recommended. Installing feature patches may
fail because of differently edited files.
Q: The game crashes on startup or as soon the loading screens go away or in game
(general crashes).
A: This can have several causes. Here are some things you could try:
- Make sure to start the game using the GTA IV: San Andreas Launcher
(IVSALauncher.exe).
- Try launching the game again. Perhaps it now works.
- Remove your savegames.
These are in either My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames or
X:\Users\<name>\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames).
- Ensure the game language is set to English.
- Install the latest .NET Framework.
- If you are using XLiveLess, try using a different version.
- Reinstall the game and the mod completely. Install patch 1.0.7.0 if you are
using GTA IV.
- If you are using GTA EFLC, there may be some compatibility issues. Try
installing the mod on GTA IV.
- Check the .log files in the installation folder to see if patching some files
failed.
Q: I get the error message VDS20 when I try to launch the game.
A: This can have several causes. Most of the times a restart of the game will work.
If not, try installing the latest .NET Framework, using a different version of
XLiveLess, or the suggestions above.
Q: I get the error message "Invalid resource detected" when I try to launch the
game.
A: Most of the times a restart of the game will do. If not, try reinstalling the
game and the mod.
Q: I get the error message RMN60 when I try to launch the game.
A: Copy DFA.dll from a GTA IV installation to your GTA IV: San Andreas
installation.
Q: When I start the game, I'm in Liberty City or nowhere and then start falling,
why?
A: If you have the mod installed on GTA EFLC, you should launch the game using
IVSALauncher.exe.
If this doesn't help, or if you are using GTA IV, try installing the mod.
Q: I get a huge FPS drop when entering or exiting a vehicle, how can I fix this?
A: Reinstall GTA IV: San Andreas and deselect EPM so that it won't be installed.
To remove EPM without reinstalling, remove the "moveDoors" files from the
scripts folder.
Please note, that you will have to remove it again if you install a patch or an
update.
Q: I get a Windows Program Compatibility message about "flash.ocx" when I quit the
launcher.
A: Install the latest ActiveX (Internet Explorer) version of Adobe Flash Player.
