The things that ‘ve paint are often a result of seeing that type o thing inthe street. We ‘often paint simply forthe people in the streets andifit makes ther life alittle easier knowing that wo paint justforthem, and bring litle color {othestreetsjust for them, itisa ‘means of excaping the reality ofthe harsh word, These poople are able tosee these big murals and know ry A that they are not excluded from the rest ofthe world. We wantthem to know that they are thought about. Explaining to people outside of Sao Paulo what goes on theres very Ailiclt because the people who live there dont know themselves what’ going on. They figure that ‘anything must be better than where they re, any city, anything, They pick up and move to shantytowns and sometimes doa great deal better That's why there are so ‘many shantytowns, because once there, nobody can go higher Kids ‘who are born int that life dont have the resources to go any higher.
