Informative Essay

Nursing is both a profession and service. It is an art, science and spiritual in the giving
of health nursing to help people to be in a good health status and prevent illness. As a
nurse, you are promoting health, caring for the sick and many more. Also, nurses aren’t
just in hospitals. Contrary to popular belief, only 41 percent of nurses work in hospitals
and according to U.S News and World Reports three of the 25 best jobs of 2018 are
types of nurses.

With nursing as your field, there are many skills you can develop. In fact, you may even
discover some skills within yourself you did not know you had. You are expected and
you will develop excellent communication skills as you are exposed to speaking with
people in the health care community. In the long run, you will be able to adapt to
anywhere you’ll be assigned to since you are trained and applying those trainings on
hospital grounds will sharpen your skills even more. In addition, nursing can also
develop your critical thinking and creative problem solving through applying knowledge
and experience and directing clinical judgements. Being in the nursing field allows you
to develop so much not to mention professionalism, empathy, teamwork, attitude, and
confidence that will result in understanding yourself better and providing better care to
clients.

In concern of work opportunities as a fresh graduate, there are tons of choices. You can
apply for a staff nurse that provides direct care for nursing homes or patients in a
hospital, or emergency room nurse that treats patient who are suffering from injury or
severe medical conditions and require urgent treatment.
If you are someone who like to travel while working, it is also possible to apply for
traveling nurse even if you are a fresh graduate. In fact, it is even better for early career
nurses to try travel nursing. It is also possible to be a nurse practitioner. But before that,
you must have MSN first. MSN is a degree requirement, which can take 2-3 three years
to complete.

Nursing is so much more than what you see in hospital settings, in movies, or what you
hear in people. I learned that until I became a nursing student myself. No one sees the
shaping of a nurse behind the scenes, but when you do, nurses are beyond capable
than caring for patients.
