Counting Fun 6 - 10 Grade Preschool

Supplies: Subject Counting

• 1 copy of Counting Fun 6 - 10 Activity Sheet 2

• 5 marbles Grouping Individuals
• Two plastic cups
• Paper cutting scissors

Activity:
1) To begin with, give your students enough practice in saying the numbers 6 to 10 aloud.
Pause after each number to give them the chance to repeat after you. Continue prac-
ticing aloud till they have completely mastered reciting the numbers. Also, to help
them visually discriminate one number from the other, write them down on the board.
2) Use paper cutting scissors to cut each number from the Counting Fun 6 - 10 Activity
Sheet 2 along the dotted lines. After cutting, put all the number cards in one of the
plastic cups.
3) Store the marbles in the other plastic container.
4) You are all set to start the Counting Fun Activity 6 - 10 with your the students. The rules
are as follows:
• Ask each student to pick out one number card randomly from the plastic cup.
• Ask them to read the number on the card they have drawn. They will then pick the
same number of marbles from the other plastic cup containing them. Once that is
done, they will hand the marbles over to you.
• Count and check the students have handed over the right number of marbles to you.
Afterwards, put the number cards and the marbles back to their respective plastic cups.
5) Each student gets one chance to play. Repeat till they can recognize numbers and
count without errors.
