BEED IIIA Teaching Multigrade Class

1. What is differentiated instruction?
It means providing or using multiple methods and variety of instructional
strategies to cater students’ mixed ability.
2. As a teacher, how will you know what instructions are you going to apply to your
pupils/learners?
First, I will know their different learning styles and what are their interests and
that’s the time for me to plan an instructional strategy that will suit and tap the
interests of my learners. I will assure that the instructional method I’m going to use
will be effective.
3. Would be a burden for a teacher if he/ she will be using differentiated instructions
in her class?
For me, it wouldn’t be a burden for a teacher if he/ she will be using
differentiated instructions in her class because teachers should be flexible and
creative, especially for the better learning of his or her students. Differentiated
instruction can help teachers empower and enrich their teaching for the sake of their
students when it comes to their learning aspect. And it is fun and enjoyable if teacher
will use this kind of instruction so that students will not view or see the discussion
boring.
4. How will you apply this in teaching multigrade?
It will be a great method and help learners in multigrade classes assist their
individual needs. We all know that students are all unique and diverse. They have
different learning styles and differents ways of learning. So what more if we will be
teaching a multigrade class that needs a more creative and flexible instructional
strategies.
5. What is your realization after watching the video?
After watching the video, I realized how crucial differentiated instruction is and
its important role in the learning process of the students. It is very helpful in providing
a responsive needs of the learners. It is very effective in reducing the number of
students who are at risk of becoming classified as learning disabled.
