Visual Qualities in Creating a Work of Art
LEARNING ACTIVITY 1

1. Copy an abstract, combining several colors to form an art with aesthetic beauty and discuss its
meaning.

A rainbow color represents differences. Differences do matter because denying it is denying of who

we are. Our differences are the unique identity of ourselves from each other.

2. Copy an art that made up of lines, describe the interconnections of lines and discuss its meaning to
you.

In this artwork depicts the connection of human and nature. Nowadays human shapes nature

because of massive consumption of natural resources, initiates pollution. That harms our environment

and species of wild flora and fauna.

3. Catch up an art that are combinations of various shapes, define the meaning of shapes based on how
you understand it.
 Shape is the form of an artwork that was mold and carved by an artist. Like us persons, we all are

shaped by our own culture, beliefs, values, and experience. Moreover reverence and acceptance to

other's personality makes us live in harmony.

The Pieta by Michaelangelo

This famous work of art depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the

crucifixion. Portraits here the sorrow of a mother to the death of her son. The mother's love and care

until on our last breath.

The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci

The Last Supper portrays the reaction given by each apostle when Jesus said one of them would

betray him. All twelve apostles have different reactions to the news, with various degrees of anger and

shock. In our life there are instances we were betrayed, mostly by our friends. For goodness's sake we

forgive them and still consider them as our friend.

- I've learned that arts exists and do matter in different aspects of society

1. NON MOTIVATED FUNCTION OF ART

ATANG-is an Ilocano food offering to the soul of deceased family member and to spirits. That still
performing until now.

2. MOTIVATED FUNCTION OF ART

TV commercial of Ajinomoto Ginisa Mix- I was hooked on how Marian Rivera describe this seasoning and

the enjoyment upon tasting the food she cooked using this product.

1. SURREALISM

The image depicts a dead body that appears in the dark, mostly to the person that caused their

death. This exaggeration was only watched in movies that gives fear to the viewers. Because the viewers

are frightened they believe they might encounter it in the dark.

2. SYMBOLISM

The crucifix symbolizes the forgiveness of our sins. The salvation of Jesus Christ for us to be saved.

Also it symbolizes the love of God to humanity, that he sacrificed his only son.

3. Soaring Eagle
 Eagle soars at high altitude, they don't fly with small birds. We must have too, we keep good

company and avoid those who pulls us down.

Eagles love strong winds, so they could lift themselves higher and rest their wings. Achievers must

not be afraid of challenges, rather we use them profitably.

 There are instances in our lives that, someone who are especial for us leaves. Some may die and

some leaves us for good. Those instances gives us a silhouette to reality, because we cannot accept the

truth that they're gone. As they say, we can only knew someone's value whey they doesn't physically

exists anymore. Now that they are out of sight we would missed them, the only thing we have are those

memories.

The song says memories don't fade. These memories reminds us that we became happy with them

for a moment. We had shared our love and care for them, once. They teach us and had been part of our

life. So as long as we have our love ones make and share lot of memories every moment. Because that's

the only thing we could go back to when they were gone.

2. Right Usage

We have means to do something that would give us ease, but unfortunately we don't know how to

use it wisely and effectively. What we know is we need lot of it but in reality only a small amount is

enough when in right Usage. Just like money.

3. Life Span

Life is a journey that has an end. Be successful and meaningful to other. Success must be shared

especially to needy. Don't be a consistent receiver be a sender sometimes. Make our life productive, let

us be a legacy.
