Aircraft antennas found in Airbus a320

- In A320 the VHF 1 and VHF 3 antennas are placed on the top Fuselage
whereas the VHF 2 at the bottom Fuselage. The reason for VHF 1 on the top
Fuselage is, In case of a crash or a belly landing the antennas at bottom
Fuselage are more likely to be damaged and VHF#1 is power by ESSENTIAL
BUS and DC EMERGENCY supply and hence the VHF #1 antenna is placed on
top Fuselage so that communication can be done in electrical power loss/
crash landing scenarios.
