Abstract

The background of this research is to find out how effective the distribution of social
assistance for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the Terawas Village area is.
The COVID-19 pandemic certainly has an impact on the wider community. One of the
government's policies is to provide social assistance to people affected by the COVID-19
pandemic. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether the assistance has
been channeled effectively to the community to reduce the people's economic burden? This
study attempts to analyze the effectiveness of distributing social assistance to communities
affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used an observational research design,
and the data was processed using a qualitative method with an analytical descriptive
approach. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the distribution of social
assistance had not been effective and/or several problems were found, including: a.) invalid
data on social assistance recipients, b.) no SOP (standard operating procedure) in the
distribution of aid, and c.) timing of distribution unscheduled. For this reason, the
researcher suggests that data validation be carried out immediately and Standard Operating
Procedures for the distribution of social assistance should be prepared. Furthermore, the
results of this study can be used as a reference for evaluation of policy formulation in the
future.
