The story of the videogames

It all started in the 1950s, when computer scientists started creating games
and simulators as part of their research.

At that time, games that transmitted signals to some kind of screen were
considered videogames, even if the interaction did not happen outside of it.
Some games had interaction through printers, for example. Imagine the
patience to play something like that ?!

The first video game in history was called Bertie The Brain and was created in
1950. It was a huge console, 4 meters long, created to challenge players to a
simple tic-tac-toe game. It was built in Toronto (Canada) by scientist Josef
Kates.

After being exposed for two weeks at a fair, he ended up falling by the
wayside. The term video game has since evolved from a purely technical
definition to a concept that defines a type of interactive entertainment, as we
know it today.
