N : Hi i’m .... i’ll be your nurse today i’ll go over using insulin to help you control
yoour diabetes, can you tell your name and your age please?

N : i’ll make sure, do you know why you are here?
P : my blood’s sugar levels were too high and i guess i lost consciousness at home
and they brought me hre and i just haven’t been really taking care of myself lately.
N : can you tell me how you haven’t been caring for yourself.
P : not really eating right or taking my medication i keep forgetting.
N : well maybe you should put an alam on your phone to help you remember so
you don’t forget probably wouldn’t be a bad idea.
P : i nver thought about it.
N : can you tell me what foods you have been eating?
P : the pizza, chips, cookies and i mean occasionalle i hae a salad or sometthing
healthy but i’ve also been not going on my walks like i normally do because my
feet just hurt so bad now.
N : it must be difficult i having the pain your experience. The doctor now
recommends that you administer insulin to help control your diabtes. I’m gonna
show you how to administer insulin okay?

N : so when you are at home and i’m shut to here you’re gonna have your insulin
syringe, it’s an alcohol wipes, your insulin and i’ll let you practice on mannequins
looks like a piece of you touch it.

N : i’m gonna let you do this, you’re gonna take your alcohol wipes in the middle
in a circulation motion.
P : Okay
N : take your influence syringe ten take this cap off.
P : Oh no no no no i don’t think i can stick myself like that this will hurt and it
could bruise me.
N : the needle is not that big you’ll be all right, it is barely stink.

and then stick that, check there and turn it upside down the whole thing.

N : well it’s up, i’m not gonna smell out and then need you to inject it into the
fake skin
