ABSTRAK

The background of this research is to find out the types of figure of speech in the Bruno Mars
song, with the title (Talking to the moon). Based on the use of figure of speech in this song,
the researcher knows the types of figure of speech in the song "talking to the moon". figure of
speech has several types such as: Metaphor, Hyperbole, Irony, Synecdote, Simile, Metonym,
Personification, Paradok and others. The research data is in the form of documents from a
Bruno Mars song entitled (talking to the moon). And from the results of the study, the
researchers found figure of speech in the song, namely: metaphorical figure, personification
figure, and hyperbolic figure. Each of these types has a specific meaning. Based on the
context in the song lyrics (talking to the moon), the researcher has analyzed the type of
figurative language.

INTRODUCTION
