Google Educator Level 1 Certification important information and procedures

Important information for this project:

• Information on Google sites changes often. Menus and options you see on-screen
may not exactly match our instructions. Please contact your instructor if you see
directions we need to update.
• You should use a Google Chrome browser and your personal Gmail account to
complete this training.
• Google Educator Level 1 certification involves 13 online tutorials and a 180-minute
continuous exam. Your instructor will provide voucher code covering the first
attempt exam fee.
• Upon registering for the exam with the voucher code, the voucher code expires
after seven days. The voucher code is only good for one attempt! Be prepared to
take the exam when you register with the voucher code.
o For the first attempt, your instructor will provide you with a voucher to
cover the $10 cost of the exam. If unsuccessful you will need to retake the
exam and the cost of the exam is your responsibility.
o To pass the exam you need a score of 80% or higher.
o If you do not pass the test the first time you will have to wait 14 days to
retake the test.
o If you do not pass the test on the second attempt, you will have to wait 60
days to retake the test.
o If you do not pass on the 3rd attempt, you must wait a year to retake the
exam.
• Practice and be well-prepared to take the exam! See checklist of topics you should
be comfortable with before attempting the exam.
• You are given 3 hours to take the test. You cannot leave the test. You must
complete it within the 3 hours with your webcam on with no interruptions. Make
sure your computer is updated and charged when taking the exam.
• Your Google Certification is valid for 36 months. To keep it current, you will need
to retake the exam when it expires in three years.

Procedures
1. Log into the Google Training Center and begin completing the training.
a. Go to the Google Training Center for more information on the exam and to
register for the exam.
b. Create an account and login with your personal Google account i.e.
(isample@gmail.com).
c. Completing the tutorials and training towards preparing for the exam is
required by Google before registering for the exam. Select and complete
Units 1-13,
 d. You will complete training units 1-13 in the Google Training Center. When
you are ready to take the exam register for the exam and use your voucher
code. Your voucher code will be given to you in Canvas.

2. Take the Google Level 1 Certification Exam

a. Take the Google Level 1 Certification Exam by July 26. You must make a
three-hour time commitment to complete the exam.
b. After successful completion of the exam you will receive your results and
credentials in an email from Google. Later you can save it and upload it to
your ePortfolio. You instructor may ask you to provide the e-mail sent to
you from Google to ensure authenticity of certification.
