With the incorporation of TEM, and increase in the majority stake (75%) of Olacious the sustainable
development of indigenous community has been at stake. As the community was completely eroded
from the economic benefit. Furthermore, due to the operation of mining activity there was a large risk
to the environment without any active protective measures that could be enforced against Olacious
therefore, the policy makers are of the opinion that SPV-JV will be a more viable option for the
Government of Tukstan for the benefit of community.

UNDRIP

Due to the mining activity in the site of Ras Khamum, the indigenous communities interest and
protection of their rights against the exploitation of natural resources, compromise with traditional
customs, economic benefit, infringement of representation right are very much prevalent in the state of
tukostan therefore, there is a urgent need for amendment in the domestic law as per the UNDRIP
provisions.
