NATION AND NATIONALISM

1. How does the Katipunan understand / make sense of the following?

 State and Government

They have a thorough understanding of the company or government. Their

understanding has resulted in the KKK's structure being simple. The Katipunan, which
began as a secret administration, was formulated by the Supreme Council, which was
led by an elected President. The Secretary, Treasurer, Fiscal, and Councilors in various
areas joined forces. The structure's simplicity inspired them to begin, and they later
came together to shape their platform.

 Leadership

Katipunan acknowledges that leadership means doing what is right and just, and being a
leader who always considers the country's best interests. Also, a leader who is honest in
his judgment and treatment of others. They also want a world free of foreign invasion.

2. How does the Katipunan understand / make sense of the Filipino nation?

They fought for the Filipinos from the invasion and cruel treatments from other countries. They
saw too much suffering from their fellow Filipinos which has encouraged them to set a secret
organization to fight back to the invaders. They know too well the weakness of their enemy and
the strengths they possess together.

3. What are your reflections on these writings about some important ideas of the Katipunan?

The (KKK) Kataas-taasan, Kagalanggalangan, Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan is one of the
most important katipunan ideas. The KKK was the party that initiated the revolution in 1898.
Gregoria De Jesus, Andres Bonifacio's wife, maintains the kartilya ng katipunan, which is where
their news and laws are written. Their idea was brilliant and driven enough to fight back the
colonizers and ended it successfully gaining the freedom they always wanted for them and the
Filipino people.
