Where is Australia?
● Australia is the biggest country in
Oceania

● Its capital is Canberra that is in the


northeast of the country.

● Is the 6th biggest country in the world.


History
● 50,000 years ago.
● They have traveled from Asia across land bridges
that were exposed when sea levels were lower.
● The Aborigines have learned to live in hard
conditions.
● Explorers arrived to Australia in 1606, and they
established there in 1788.
● In 1851, gold was discovered in Australia. Because
of that,they arrived thousands of new immigrants

Animals and Plants
Animals:

Some of the most emblematic animals


in Australia are the kangaroo and the
koala, as well as the platypus, the
wallaby and the wombat.

Plants:

The most emblematic plats are:


Boronia heterophylla, Chamelaucium
uncinatum and Brachychiton discolor.
5 TYPICAL FOOD IN AUSTRALIA
1.Australian roast beef : Australians put almost everything on this meat.

2.Chicken Parmesan : It’s a bread with chicken fillet, with ham, Neapolitan sauce and a
piece of cheese.

3.Crab sticks : It have a lot of different types of meat. A curiosity of this food is that it
haven’t got crab meat.

4.Kangaroo meat : You can try this meat in hamburgers or sausages.

5.Hamburgers : In Australia they put beet in the hamburgers. They say that this makes the
hamburger be healthier.

sound

The Lyrebird is a bird native of Australia and


can imitate different sounds, including other
species of birds.
2.- In Australia lives the most lethal jellyfish in the
world
This is the Box Jellyfish, which inhabits the waters of
Queensland and has killed more people than crocodiles
and sharks.
3.- The only two mammals in the world that lay
eggs are native to Australia
They are the platypus and the echidna, which also live in New Guinea.
4.- It is the only country where koalas live

Although it is difficult to find them outside of a zoo.

The term Down Under is a colloquial expression that is interpreted in various ways
to refer to Australia and New Zealand, although it is generally used to refer only to
Australia
