This is the photo I chose because this is the one I miss when I remember holiday. The
Christmas season is the season of giving. The Christmas I experienced back then was
very fun where people do caroling every night. I remember we used to collect bottle
caps, flatten them, and use them for caroling. We do that as early as November
around the village for us to have more money for Christmas. We usually use the money
we earned to buy toys that we want. The new year as well, the firecrackers are the
ones I miss the most. I usually lit up firecrackers from before like piccolo, pop-pop, and
more.

The reason why I talked about that because I don’t feel like the holiday season from
before is anywhere near what we have right now. Even before COVID-19 influenza
happened, the Christmas and New Year have been different since these past few years.
The caroling has been lessened, some firecrackers have been banned, and I don’t feel
the season of giving anymore. I think this started when the younger generations prefer
more to play with their gadgets rather than socializing with others. And the banning of
firecrackers is due to the negligence of the people where they are most likely to get
injured. How sad for them not to experience this kind of event.
I am proud to say that I am lucky enough to experience this. The amount of fun and
memories I had with friends is irreplaceable. I would never exchange these memories
for anything. I hope we can bring back this kind of memories so that others can feel
the real feeling of the season giving.
