OSCAR ÁVILES
Oscar Aviles was born on March 24, 1924, in the city of Lima.
He was a Peruvian guitarist, singer, composer, producer and arranger.
He was recognized as "The first guitarist of Peru ", for interpreting criollo
music.
One of the best duets that this artist had with Arturo "Zambo" Cavero,
where they interpreted together the song "contigo Perú" representing our
country and its creole music.
He died on April 5, 2014 in lima.

BLANCA VARELA GONZALES
Blanca Varela Gonzales was a Peruvian poet born on August 10, 1926 in
Lima - Peru. He died on March 12, 2009 at the age of 82. She was a very
recognized poet in Peru and in Latin America. She studied at the
Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and studied letters and
education. She also met her husband at the university, the painter
Fernando, with whom she had two children. She wrote several world-
renowned works such as Pierino da Vinci and Luz de día. Blanca won the
Octavio Paz Prize for Poetry and Essay in 2001 and in 2006 she won the
Federico García Lorca International Poetry Prize, becoming the first
woman to have also been awarded the Medal of Honor by the National
Institute of Culture of Peru.
