a. What are the common characteristics have you seen in each essay shared by your
classmates about their unforgettable teachers?

Me and my group mates have shared our own stories of our unforgettable teachers. Each
and everyone of us has distinct stories of how their teacher was memorable in their lives.
Some shared the one that impacted the most in their lives was their terror teacher which
taught them to face the reality of being a student. Another member of the group said that
her teacher taught him not only lessons on the subject but also advice in life. But one
common characteristic of an unforgettable teacher for us is that they all have these morals
with them that make their students somehow imitate those noble characters. A good
teacher can impact a students life not only in the academe but also the path and direction
towards the betterment which is to aid our society.

B. Supposing you are a newly hired, full-time faculty member. One of your colleagues says
to you, "Becoming friendly to your students can be a problem.”

1. Will being a friendly and an approachable teacher ever become a predicament?

Being friendly in a way that there is a set of boundaries between a student - teacher
relationship has never been a problem in my own opinion. This kind of attitude actually
helps the students to take the class seriously with good intentions and can easily
communicate with the teacher. In this way we as students can see the teacher as
approachable as we see them hence developing our capability to actually understand their
own lesson. One thing to be reminded of is the there should be a clear line that respect
should always be present.

2. How can being familiar with students affect your professional work etiquette?

It affects in a way that the work of teachers will become efficient and effective. If a teacher
is familiar with its students she will know that they have their own battles may it be in their
home and their friends. Hence teachers will become effective at work because in doing so
she will adjust to the needs of her students and be able to understand underlying issues a
student may have. Then students can manage the lesson and be able to have a full and
active participation. Because of that, somehow the teacher will also become efficient at
work because she will carry on with her task, minding not only herself but also to the needs
of her students. For instance, if a problem may arise she will know how to deal with those
students who are hard headed. She can reprimand that particular student and will carry on
with her lesson.
c. If you have an opportunity to become a teacher in the future, would you allow yourself to
be immersed in teaching vocation? Why or why not?

I’d be completely honest, I don’t think I will ever become a teacher. This is because I have zero
tolerance in patience, hard work, and being determined. Reason why I am always amazed and
bow down to teachers. Their work is not something that can be done by anybody. It requires not
only the brain but actually emotional well being. They will encounter different kinds of students
who have different perspectives in life. I think I will never be able to top that kind of
determination to teach.
