quantification of forest biodiversity techniques

Studies required for the job University diploma – Bachelor’s degree in Forest science
PhD diploma in Biology or Environment science
Training -

Computer skills Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word,
PowerPoint

Languages English proficiency

Working experience At least 10 years’ experience in forest research (forest biodiversity)

Skills required • Knowledge of scientifically aspects related to forest biodiversity


• Knowledge of the science of forestry, including forest biodiversity,
forest products, species identification and forest ecology.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and problems of forest field
activities and data processing.
• Knowledge of the methods of surveying, mapping, and estimating
forest stands.
• Ability to perform technical forestry studies and to prepare
technical reports and articles
• Ability to write scientific studies and to prepare technical reports
and scientific articles

• Provide input into the development of harmonized methodology
for quantification of forest biodiversity
• Provide support in creation of project transboundary network of
researchers and experts
• Contribute to project results dissemination (writhing scientific
papers, oral communications and scientific reports)
• Elaborate scientific studies based on field data
• Conducts timber surveys designed to collect experimental data.
• Provide support for assembling and organizing of results into
comprehensive summaries.
• Develops and approves plans and specifications for the completion
of forest-type maps and sampling procedures in the field.
