GUIDELINES FOR PHOTOGRAPH AND SIGNATURE

Before applying online a candidate is required to have a scanned (digital) image of


his/her photograph and signature as per the specifications given below.

I. PHOTOGRAPH
1. Photograph must be recent(taken within the last six months) passport size
colour/black&white picture.
2. The picture should be in colour/black&white, against a light-coloured, preferably white
background. The face and shoulders should be clear, face centrally focused and eyes
open and vivid.
3. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.
4. If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the
shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows.
5. If you have to use flash, ensure that there is no "red-eye".
6. If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be
clearly seen.
7. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious head wear is allowed but it
must not cover your face.
8. Dimensions: Height - 200 pixels; Width -150 pixels.
9. Size of file should be between 20 and 40 KB.
10. The file should be in the format JPEG/GIF/PNG.

II. SIGNATURE
1. The candidate has to sign on white paper with Black Ink Pen. If the signature is not
dark enough, its scanned image may be of unacceptable quality.
2. The signature must be that of the candidate and not that of any other person.
3. The signature may be used on the Admission Ticket and wherever necessary.
4. Dimensions: Height -100 pixels; Width -150 pixels.
5. Size of file should be between 10 and 20 KB.
6. The file should be in the format JPEG/GIF/PNG.

III. PROCEDURE FOR UPLOADING THE PHOTOGRAPH AND SIGNATURE


1. There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature.
2. Click on the respective link "Upload Passport size photo" and “Upload Scanned
Signature”.
3. Browse & Select the location where the Scanned Photo/Signature file has been saved.
4. Select the file by clicking on it.
5. Click the 'Proceed' button.

IMPORTANT
Applicants are requested to be careful enough to avoid the following mistakes regarding
photograph and signature while submitting their application to the High Court.
1. Bad quality of submitted photograph.
2. Bad quality of submitted signature.
3. Swapping of photograph with that of signature.
4. Only photograph is submitted, i.e. no signature submitted or photograph submitted at
the place of signature as well.
5. Only signature is submitted, i.e. no photograph submitted or signature submitted at the
place of photograph as well.
