Tugu Lawet or Tugu Swallow or Butterfly Tarung is a monument in Kebumen
Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The existence of this monument is closely linked to the potential of Kebumen Regency, the maker of Lawet Bird's nest. Tugu Lawet is located at the intersection of four centers of Kebumen so that it can be easily found. Tugu Lawet was created to describe the activities and struggles of the harvester of swiftlet nests in caves on the south coast of Kebumen Regency that are full of challenges and risks. The irregular shape of Tugu Lawet depicts the steep coral contours of the southern coast of Kebumen. There are five human statues depicting the harvester and two giant swallows at the top of the monument. Five human stands that wore only short shorts to illustrate the simplicity of the old penguins. In the past, Tugu Lawet Kebumen became a symbol of the prosperity of the people of Kebumen from the bird nest industry and thus became a proud monument. Now Tugu Lawet has become a nostalgic monument, and a reminder that uncontrolled exploitation of the gifts of nature will sooner or later lead to regret and the legacy of harm to descendants.
