THE REVIEW:

In this article we offer a summary of the plot and a brief analysis, review and commentary on the

film. Directed by Todd Phillips, the film and story are based on the eponymous character from

the DC Comics comic, unstable Batman antagonist. the Joker  or rather  Arthur Fleck , the man

who, between madness and desperation, will give free rein to all his potential by transforming

himself into a terrifying clown with that grin of his and that huge blood red smile.

Joker is the first superhero, although inspired by the world of comics, is not entirely alien,

moving more towards a dramatic Thriller. Joker is a simple story that analyses the very essence

of a human being by focusing every visual moment on the face of Joaquin Phoenix. Joker is

therefore a victim of the evil he suffers and that leads him to generate even more, to the point of

becoming a killer.

Laughter, difficult to create that way, proves once again how the American actor is a remarkable

artist. But the film leaves him in a dangerous condition. Joker is the absolute protagonist and also

succeeds in a weak, feeble and at times forced plot to remain in the balance between a story that

improvises and a rhythmically rapid, pressing, but sometimes out of register story.

For me, Joker is a powerful film from three main points of view: first of all for its depth as it

manages to touch delicate chords, especially for the viewer who identifies with or identifies with

the character played by Joaquin Phoenix, makes people reflect and ask questions. Which ones to

answer is difficult, it stimulates people to think about politics (Thomas Wayne is characterized as

Donald Trump) and about the cruel society in its indifference.

Secondly for the masterful staging, the excellent photography, the scenography made of dark,

cramped, claustrophobic environments that reflect Arthur’s state of mind and accompany

the Joker’s future. . Finally, as already said previously, Joaquin Phoenix’s interpretation is

simply from Oscar, his dance metaphor of Arthur’s metamorphosis, from the loser, insecure and

sad to the fearsome Joker , but above all the laugh, that damned laugh, involuntary and

destabilizing, with the mouth laughs, but the facial expressions betray the joyful feeling, sad and

exasperated eyes. Joaquin Phoenix is unique, inimitable, his unattainable Joker.
