● Imports of Newsprint and transport equipment have been significantly less in Jan-Apr
2021, in comparison to the same period in 2020 and 2019.

● For pulses, imports have seen positive growth in 2021 in comparison to 2020 and 2019.
However, overall, the imports have come down. However, during 2016-21, the import
bill of pulses has reduced significantly. In 2016-17, the import value was US$ 3.56
billion, while during 2020-21, the import of pulses was valued slightly higher at US$
1.29 billion.
