Personal Statement

I really want to join the YSEALI Academic Fellow program. I have never been to go
abroad before and I really want to get experience in learning anything about USA as a big
country and ASEAN as a regional organization of Southeast Asian Nations . I am interested in
environmental issue and I have joined in some organizations, also participated in some
environmental care action in Bali. Talking about environment is like talking about future.
Climate change is one of the issues that is actually happening now. Unfortunately , there are still
many people who don't realize it and even don't really care about it. We, as the human being,
should have paid attention and cared about the environment. It's where we live and we depend on
that. I chose this theme because I am concern about environment and I have a strong desire to
make change and influence many people. I believe that if I can join this program, I will apply my
leadership skills, train to benefit my organization, faculty, university, and influence many people
in Indonesia or ASEAN region. I am looking forward to getting this gold opportunity.
