REPORTED SPEECH- IMPERATIVE:

Commands and request:


In an imperative sentence, we use reporting verbs such as commanded,
ordered, asked, begged, demanded, suggested, recommended, requested etc…
and infinitive form(to + verb) is added.
Change the following in indirect form:
1. The cashier said to Ancy, “Give me the receipt.”

2. The ambulance driver said to the pedestrians: "Move out of the way!"

3. The doctor said to me, “Get some rest.”

4. The Principal said to the peon, “Get my files.”

5. My father said to me, “Set your alarm before you go to bed.”

6. Jane’s mother said, “Be kind to your brother.”

7. Ria whispered to her sister, “Please be ready on time every morning.”

8. Leena’s cousin said, “Go ahead without me.”

9. The President told the oil company, “Stop the oil spill.”

10. “Could you please do the exercise,” said the teacher to the students.
